Fishing in the Hauraki Gulf and New Zealand
Here in Auckland we are blessed to have some of the most amazing sport fishing on our back doorstep with both the Hauraki Gulf and West Coast options accessible from our base at Pier21 Drystack, Westhaven Marina Auckland City.
Predominantly targeting Kingfish and Snapper in the gulf, our main method targeting fish is by using a variety of lure techniques. We often catch wonderful bi-catches like Gurnard, Kahawai & John Dory, On offer are specialised trips targeting species like Hapuka, Bass, Tuna, Marlin, & Broadbill.
You are more than welcome to bring your own gear on the day but please remember we supply(at no further cost) up to date professional gear and tackle that is designed for the lure fishing planned for the day. Please note that there will be a charge only in the case of our equipment that is broken or lost during the trip.
Besides catching these great sport fish you will be exposed to a large range of sea bird species along with marine mammals like dolphins, whales and Orca, which can be seen on most trips in the Gulf.
Seeing your first workup feeding frenzy will leave you breathless as you witness first hand nature’s food chain in action.
